Does AdSense Make Cents On Your Blog
This seems to be the hot topic lately and it concerns using Google AdSense
on a Blog.
This morning I was buzzing around the LinkReferral Forum and I homed in on
a thread concerning "Google Adsense and is anybody making any money with it".
There are many replies to the topic from "hopeless", making a few cents, to trying
to get to the payout threshold of $50. Lots of the replies had a overtone of
"help me" in them as well. Of course I had to get my opinion in there and
remarked about the Cow vs Conn competition where both Bloggers got it
figured out and are maximizing their use of Google Ads. I am sure it will
spur a few clicks to the two blogs I mentioned because the majority of them
wanted to see somebody actually earning money from AdSense and how they
are doing it.
Some of them are Affiliate Marketers using Blogs and websites to showcase
their opportunity. To address the Affiliate Marketing I also added this to my
reply; why are you using Google AdSense in the first place if you are trying
to keep people interested in what you are presenting them. Imagine you
reading a Blog about an opportunity for $19.95 a month which in turn will
provide you with residual income and a product everybody wants. To the right
your eye catches a similar Google advertisement but for $9.95 a month. I think
you get the picture, your reader just exited your site and is reading another
Marketer's splashpage.
Visualize this: I've put if off long enough and I am going to get a hair transplant
to fertilize my head that only has a few strands left on it. Off to the "shop"
and when I get inside I see what they have to offer. Hmmm...not bad but I
would like to get it done cheaper. Suddenly you notice a door on every wall
in the office with advertisements on it. Hair transplant and your choice of
color 50% off and Life-like wigs with a discount saving of 75%. Well, I never
considered a toupee and off I go through the door into anther store, never
to return to the original salesperson that was still explaining the process
when I walked out the door.

My point is you need to distinguish what you are trying to accomplish and if
you are monetizing a Blog or Website just for income from advertising commissions
or inviting people to "your" affiliate program.
However, there are those among us that can use both strategies and make
them work. An example of this is to have a site optimized for Google Adsense
and have a "capture" form as well. This form builds your contact list and
you can use your marketing expertise to present offers to your leads through
a reliable autoresponder.

Close to two years ago, I sought out to create a solution to successfully being able to make money online with Google Adsense.
Only problem with my solution is that it took over 100 blogs to do it. Granted, I don't update these blogs on a daily basis, but over the course of time I am able to make my rounds and add content to them.
The end result is a few hundred per day. But, I am soon discovering that this is stupid. I do the same thing everyday and over the last six months, my earners haven't grown. I am maxed out... done, game over. Secondly, I always have it on the back of my mind that Google might wake up on the wrong side of the bed and ban me for the hell of it.
So for me, my new focus has been in email list marketing. I still do the same thing regarding me SEO and SEM strategey, but the only difference is that instead of scoring .25c for a click, I rather invest that .25c click into gaining an opt in email address from a subscriber.
After seeing what I built in two years driven by a personal motivation to find success in AdSense, I am very excited to see where things will be for me in two years from now after having my mailing lists built up.

Thanks Garry for your input, I'm following your articles and will implement
the same methods. It's all in the "list" they say.
