Plurk? What's a Plurk?

Recently I got into the habit of "commenting" on Twitter after publishing an article
on one of my Blogs or Lens. Twitter is a social networking community where
you can enter updates of what you are doing and for Bloggers it tends to serve
as a "mini Blog' or "micro Blog".

The challenge for me is to sum up in 140 characters what my latest Blog article
is about. I don't need to do that but there's an urge within me to make it a little
bit enticing and witty. One of the Blogger's I am "following" on Twitter published
a recent post about Twitter and Social Networking and I surfed over to pay him
a visit.

On John Cow's blog he explains the advantages of being involved with communities
such as Twitter and to having the courtesy to "follow" members who found your site
interesting unless of course, it's an old arch enemy who wants to belittle your site
or steal content and then you can do the "block" thing. Don't get me wrong...
healthy criticism is a good thing and sometimes you can learn from an issue that a
reader has commented on

Fortunately I haven't made any enemies yet, except on "Forums". Doesn't that get
your goat!... A heckler belittling your Forum post when they haven't got a clue what
they are typing down. Fortunately I have learned to curb my anger and not get into a
battle of words with a fellow Forum member. Hey! Marriage does teach you something!

Getting back to John's Blog...I looked in his sidebar and seen his list of social networking
sites and second in the list is Plurk. Plurk? Never heard of that one before but thinking
back I did see a mention of Plurk in a "comment" somewhere. So, the impulse to
click on the link got the better of me and I was whisked of to another "window".

Seems like John just joined there recently as well and one of his comments was about
still figuring out how Plurk works. It is different because the comments of the members
you are following are on a time graph. However, it is the same concept as Twitter except
for the layout. I have left a couple comments on Plurk so far but the site is and will be
a good source for members to attract readers to your Blog or Website and perhaps
make a few friends along the way.

Just proves what I have written about in the past. You will learn more from Bloggers
than any other source. If it's out there..."they" know about it.
