The Signature

I work on planes for a living as well as establishing a Home Business online.

We have all seen the plume of white smoke coming from the engines of an Aircraft
high in the sky. That's called the aircraft's "signature". In this case the aircraft's
signature is revealing information about the plane after it has already left that time
and space. The signature reveals what direction the airplane came from and from
the perspective of an Aircraft Mechanic, a sign that the exhaust from the powerplants
looks normal as opposed to gray or black, which is a sign of trouble. Is there anything
else an aircraft's signature is telling you?

On the online Marketing scene, a signature also reveals information to readers about
you after you are "gone" or finished posting. Two places I leave my signature are
Forums and in my e-mail messages. There are more mediums where you can use
you signature as well but I will just touch briefly on these two.

When you join a Forum and edit your details, the most important item is your signature
that you leave at the bottom of each post. The signature is a "link" to the URL of your
Blog, Website, or opportunity you want readers to visit. It's a good idea to check your
signature from time to time to make sure it is current and "points" to the correct site.

Curiosity is part of human nature and if a readers interest is peaked, he or she probably
has this urge to click on your signature or link to learn more about you and what you are
involved in.

OK...to the majority of readers that are Marketers, this is pretty basic stuff but what
about email Marketing.

The majority of emails I receive do not have a signature accompanying the sender's
name. The messages accompanied by a signature reveal to me that the sender is an
experienced Marketer or Blogger. Most email providers have a option where you can
insert your signature, email address and other information and it appears in your
messages when you send them. Saves time and eliminates checking for mistakes.

When using a signature the main objective is to make sure it is "working" and is
current. In my rummaging through Forums I have clicked on an author's links and
was surprised to see it was offline or from an abandoned blog where the last post
was months or even years ago.

Back to the signature of the aircraft's exhaust...did you think of any other information
that long trail of white smoke is trying to tell you?

It's cold up there!

Those airplanes are probably traveling at a height of 4 to 6 miles above the surface of
the earth. Standard temperature at about 4 miles, or approximately 21,000 feet, is -30 F
and at 32,000 feet, or about 6 miles, is -50 F. Just like seeing the exhaust from your car
on a cold day or seeing your breath, the frigid air at an altitude of 24,000 feet is making
an aircraft's "signature" or vortex visible.
