Rotten Apples

You have heard of the expression..."one rotten apple spoils the barrel". In my last article I
went back in time to "one rotten apple" called Ponzi and his name still "brands" similar
schemes today.

There were hundreds and thousands more that followed him and walked away with investors
money but Ponzi is the one that stuck.

This is a comment from Oldbuddy

"The biggest problem in my opinion is overreaction. Ponzi is so well known that many online
do-gooders use the term so loosely that they damage perfectly legal programs just because
they see them as a scheme."

By the way...Oldbuddy's link is to one of the hottest legitimate programs online today.

What is your reaction to this comment?

Lets take a legitimate company like GDI - Global Domains International. I was with GDI for
the first few months as a newbie into Affiliate Marketing and got a couple people to signup
for the free 7 day trial and then there were gone as quickly as they came. This happened
several times and I gave up in frustration. I figured that it must be the product. If they
don't want the site builder and email program to build a website of their own, they don't
bother to commit. Perhaps it's the $1.00 a downline member that turns them off.

I was ready to scream Ponzi and foul but I knew that wasn't true because members are
making a lot of money and after getting a foothold and their members recruiting people..it's
like a snowball affect and gives the term "the power of one" meaning.

However, even on online Advertisements displayed everywhere...GDI is being called a
scheme and thus a Ponzi. Me...I know it's a marketing ploy to divert prospects to the
advertisers site but do new Home Business shoppers know that? No, they don't and
as far as I am concerned these Ads should be all banned because they are false but
online Marketing is open season on anyone or any company.

How does all this affect me?

As an Affiliate Marketer it makes my "job" extremely difficult because of this fear of being
"ripped-off". It takes time and building trust with downline members to the point where they
get that first compensation check and then they start to believe and get inspired to build
an organization of their own. Until then, there is always this shadow of doubt looming in
a new member's mind.

How do I know that? Because I have been there and have lost a lot of money on programs
that wouldn't pay and others that didn't deliver what was advertised. Until I see that first
few cents or $1.00 in my commission account there is this inkling of doubt although I do
a lot of research before committing and know what I am getting into.

I think you uncovered one of the prime reasons some people mislabel programs as a Ponzi Scheme, if they failed it must be the fault of the program, right?

Hey Oldbuddy, your right about that and that's what I am trying to explain in my article. By
people labeling programs incorrectly this puts a shadow over the whole business and they
don't realize it is making it harder for themselves when they attempt to recruit. Who wants
to join a business when you are telling them that the most out there are Ponzi schemes.

I lick my wounds and look for a program where my style of Marketing works well and Admins
are willing to help me out, along with supportive Uplines

        Hey js,

My real name is Gordon Boehler but everybody calls me Gord.
You posted a comment on your Blog (July 30) that I sent you.
Looks like a lot of other people are happy with your investigations
of online opps as well. Maybe I took the meaning of your comment
wrong. Anyway... let me know if I did.

Ok...js, I see what you mean now after I read your Blog. I see
you were referring to an earlier comment on Ponzi's. By your
reaction the message I was trying to get across has been taken
        out of context.

I am referring to being in a program that has been shut down like
ASD Cash Generator. People's money gone and having to start over.
I was referring to "trusting" Admins that answer your questions
when you email them. Jeez... I didn't realize how wording a comment
can get me so much hot water. Like in my recent article it's about
an Admin and Upline that you can get "support" from . I don't know
or have run across anybody online yet who is going to fix it so I
will be making more money. Have you?

Anyway, I hope this puts are better light on what I was trying to
        get across.
