One Strike And Your Out!
One strike and your out! It's like that is it. Yes...It's like that, most of the time anyway.
I've seen it in the past and I am watching it now as Admin's struggle to keep their
program alive after profits and commissions drop to only pennies a day.
It's a cruel and unforgiving world in this online biz....you can have a profit share program
and earn your member a steady rebate for several months but when incoming funds
begin to dwindle for some reason and subsequent payouts begin to drop...the natives
start to get restless, specially after a couple weeks of declining paydays.
There are the faithful that will stick with an Admin through thick and thin but the overall
perception is he or she is failing us. So...can someone rebound from this...sure they
can but they have to make some drastic changes and put some funds in their member's
accounts. The problem with the online community is that you become "branded" and
it's not easy to change people's minds...money in their hands will though.
Let's take Affiliated Product Network for example and the program's Admin. Henrik.
Actually a perfect case study of what this article is about. APN is at rock bottom now
but still open. Profit Share rebates from last week were only a few cents to a few dollars
depending on how may APN points a member held.
I feel Henrik waited too long but he's not throwing in the towel and instead opening
another profit share tomorrow called Global Rev Share. The manual surf is already
forecasting a rebate of 15% for the opening week dependent on upgrades received.
GRS is modeled after Henrik's first success, Ad Pack Network.

So...will Henrik's reputation rebound as a man who can deliver the goods?...The next
couple weeks will be the deciding factor there. The 10% referral commission for
upgraded members is a good incentive for "active" minded members and for those
who want that bonus money. It's like all revenue share programs..if the interest is
there...it will become increasingly more popular as time goes by and the daily "returns"
should stay consistent at about 1 to 2% a day.

Good post Gord!
I think we are at a breakpoint when every founder or admin that wants to start another of those AdExchanges just have to see beyond this and figure out how to design a model to keep their members interest for a longer time.I haven´t joined GRS yet.Maybe I will, but one thing is for sure, the one who wants to keep the revenue higher for a longer time, must figure out models beyond this.
Thanks Mattias,
Unless there is outside revenue coming into the program, the numbers
will be the same...similar to AV4U. as long as people are constantly
being recruited and 25% of them upgrade it's sustainable to a point
where a 50/50 rule has to be implemented. APN will now have an outside
revenue coming into it's profit share from 20% of GRS but what will keep
GRS going a few weeks or months down the road? Another profit share!?

I didn´t mean anything negative with GRS, I just meant that this outside revenue stream should be of some variation in comparison.Of course all depends on members activities as well.If members abandon ANY program, the problem remains, of course.
Mattias,
Yes..I understand where your coming from. Looking at the long-term
with revenues that can keep the rebates at a steady rate or even give
them a boost from time to time.
