The Big Computer Scare of the Year 2000
Reflecting back to when the year 2000 came in, there was that prior
scuttlebutt about computers not being able to recognize the actual
numerical value as the clocks switched from the 1900's.
The world would be flung into chaos and although the computer Techs
behind the Military, Transport, Business, Banking and everything else
run by computers, assured Management and the World, that they were
fully prepared months before and the change over would be smooth,
the rumors and anxiety built up to a point were a lot of people began to
wonder about it.
Just in my area of expertise, the Airlines, when our computer system goes
down...all flights are immediately grounded until all systems are back up
and operational. That's just one Airline in this vast world and imagine if
onboard computers went on the fritz...total mayhem with thousands flights
a day enroute, arriving and departing.
Anyway as the last of 1999 ticked down, I am sure computer experts
everywhere were standing by just in case. The big moment came and
champaign glasses clicked together while others waited for news
of a world wide calamity that never came...lol
Oh..by the way...all my companies aircraft were grounded at that time
....just in case...whew!
Man! Time flies and now hours away from 2010, embroiled in this
online business world, I'm looking forward to see what's upcoming
in the ways of surfs, HYIPs as well as non-HYIPs. So far...I know of
one good opportunity that will be launching soon but it's early yet and
I'm sure there are some keen Admins waiting for when they figure
people will be in the spending mood again.
One thing that will not flush away with old year, are the scammers
and it will be a continuing hurdle to avoid these. With all the launches
that will be coming up next year there are always a small percentage
of winners and that's what diversifying is all about.
Happy New Year!

As the year 2000 came in i was moving blood around the state of NC for the Red Cross just in case the computers went down. I drove 900 miles that day.
Now the big thing is the end of the world with the Mayan calendar ending in 2012. That's one to get rid of the scammers.
Jack,
900 miles! Wow! Amazing how much was happening at that time while
people were partying. That's what I call dedication.
2012...now that's a good one!
Thank you for your comment. Always appreciate them
